Alchemies of Scent x Klara Ravat
At Alchemies of Scent’s second and third workshops, we are time-travelers moving back and forth from the ancient world of perfumery to today’s.
You will learn the myths and stories of scents and substances of the Ancient Mediterranean by plunging into one of the first cross-cultural perfumes of the Greco-Egyptian world: the Metopion.
You will smell, touch and taste the difference between the raw ingredients used in the past and the prepared ingredients of today: bitter almond, cardamom, galbanum, myrrh, calamus, and honey.
You will develop skills of interpreting ancient recipes, and you will learn how to use ancient recipes to experiment with scents in ancient and modern ways.
Na druhém a třetím workshopu pořádaném projektem Alchemies of Scent budete mít možnost stát se cestovateli v čase a nahlédnout do světa výroby parfémů od starověku až po současnost.
Poslechnete si příběhy a mýty o vůních a jejich přísadách ze starověkého Středomoří a odhalíte tajemství parfému zvaného metópion - jednoho z prvních, který se proslavil v celém helénistickém světě.
Budete mít možnost na vlastní kůži vyzkoušet rozdíl mezi surovými přísadami, jak je znali ve starověku, a těmi zpracovanými, které se používají dnes: přivoníte si, ohmatáte a ochutnáte hořké mandle, kardamom, galbanum, myrhu, puškvorec nebo med.
Zjistíte, jak porozumět starověkým receptům a vyzkoušíte si experimenty s vůněmi za pomoci starověkých i moderních metod.

Workshop 2: Ingredients
At our Ingredients workshop, you will smell, touch and taste the differences between ancient and modern ingredients.
You will encounter ancient stories and myths about the origin of natural scents, and you will experience the legacy of ancient perfume ingredients still in use today.

Workshop 2: Přísady
Na tomto workshopu si sami vyzkoušíte, jaké jsou rozdíly mezi starověkými a moderními přísadami. Budete si k nim moci přičichnout, ohmatat je i ochutnat.
Uslyšíte také mýty o původu různých přírodních vůní a dozvíte se, které ze starověkých ingrediencí se ve výrobě parfémů používají dodnes.

Workshop 3: Experiment
At our Experiment workshop, you will experience some of the differences between ancient and modern perfumes.
You will learn techniques for interpreting ancient recipes and you will get a chance to interpret the Metopion recipe yourself by creating your own ancient and modern Metopion perfume to take home with you.

Workshop 3: Experiment
Na tomto workshopu zjistíte, v čem se liší starověké a moderní parfémy.
Naučíte se, jak porozumět starověkým receptům a budete mít možnost interpretovat recept na parfém zvaný metópion, který si následně sami vyrobíte a odnesete s sebou domů.
